Clearwater Beach is 108 miles from Orlando, or about two hours, with white sands worth a visit. It is along the Gulf Coast of Florida or the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico.
Vero Beach is about four hours from Clearwater and two hours from Disney World. Located on the eastern side of Florida, it is also a favorite of beach goers, nature lovers and cafe lovers.
After enjoying Vero Beach, you can drive north for 50 minutes and reach Indialantic Beach, an hour away from Orlando. Its name is Indian River Lagoon.
From Indialantic, you can drive north for about 30 minutes to reach Cocoa Beach, which is known for being close to the Kennedy Space Center.
Another great beach near Orlando is at the Canaveral National Seashore, a barrier island with dunes, lagoons, and protected habitats.
New Smyrna is one of the best beaches near Orlando, conveniently located an hour away. It stretches for a remarkable 13 miles along the coastline.
If you want a more quiet and rustic beach to get R&R, take the 12-minute drive north from Daytona to Ormond Beach. This beach is considered more comfortable and calm.
From Ormond Beach, you can drive an hour north to St. Augustine Beach, where you can enjoy bodyboarding, swimming, and even fishing off the pier.
About 50 minutes from St. Augustine Beach is Jacksonville Beach, which also has a famous fishing pier and perfect surfing waves.
