💔 “Everyone died… except me.” These chilling words sum up the unbelievable survival story of Vishwashkumar Ramesh, the only person to walk away alive from the catastrophic Air India crash that killed over 200 passengers.
The Gatwick-bound flight had just taken off from Ahmedabad when disaster struck. Flames. Screams. Silence. And then—a miracle.
Ramesh, seated in 11A, was thrown from the fiery wreckage. Bloodied and dazed, he staggered out alone, with smoke billowing behind him. A passing camera captured the haunting image—a lone survivor in a sea of loss.
“He has no idea how he made it out,” his brother Nayan Ramesh told the BBC. “He just kept yelling: ‘Find Ajay, find my brother!’” Their other sibling, Ajay, was also onboard—his fate still unknown.
The tragedy has shaken families across continents. Victims included 53 Britons, among them a mother, father, and young daughter from Gloucester. A London-based family of three is still unaccounted for.
Inside the hospital, Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah met with Ramesh. The survivor, a husband and father, clutched his boarding pass, seat 11A marked in red. He lived. But why him?
Even King Charles released a statement, expressing his “deepest sympathy.” Meanwhile, PMs from both the UK and India have pledged support as investigators seek answers.
