Huge Fire Hits Miami Warehouse! Brave Firefighter Hurt.
Hey everyone, something scary happened in Miami this morning. There was a huge fire at a vacant warehouse. This old building, the former Little River Building Home Supply, is located at 7737 Northeast 2nd Avenue.
People saw heavy flames and smoke from far away and called 911 just after 6:00 AM. Our amazing Miami Fire Rescue rushed to the scene with 26 units.
Firefighters first went inside the warehouse, but quickly realized it was in danger of collapsing. So, they bravely came out and fought the fire from the outside using ladder trucks. They worked hard for about 2 hours and were able to put the flames out.
But fighting such a big fire is dangerous. Sadly, one of our firefighters was hurt. They were taken to the hospital with heat exhaustion and a back injury, but are in stable condition. It reminds us how brave they are!
Investigators are now trying to figure out how the fire started. Nearby Northeast 2nd Avenue was closed but might reopen soon.
The fire is now under control, but our thoughts are with the injured firefighter.
