I’ve seen some wild gym stories before, but this one stopped me cold.
A quiet Friday morning at a Miami Planet Fitness turned into total chaos after a woman allegedly punched an employee in the face, caused a disturbing scene inside the gym, and then ran outside — reportedly without clothes — before trying to flee.
According to Miami police, Kiara Bryant, 35, was arrested on December 12 and now faces two misdemeanor charges following the shocking incident at the Planet Fitness located at 775 SW 8th Street.
Police were first called around 10:11 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman “running without clothing” inside the gym. Yes, inside.
When officers arrived, the situation had only escalated. Authorities say Bryant was in the parking lot, yelling profanities, acting aggressively, and “attempting to fight everyone” around her.
Witnesses told police the chaos started inside the locker room.
According to the arrest report, a Planet Fitness employee approached Bryant and asked her to lower her voice. He reportedly warned her that police would be called if she didn’t calm down or leave the gym.
That’s when things allegedly turned violent.
Police say Bryant moved close to the employee’s face. The employee then pushed her back twice, claiming it was done in self-defense. But Bryant allegedly stayed aggressive and balled her fists.
Moments later, witnesses say she punched the employee in the face.
From there, the scene spiraled fast.
People inside the gym were stunned. Some backed away. Others pulled out their phones. Videos later surfaced online showing police confronting Bryant as she continued yelling and resisting commands.
Even outside, the disturbance didn’t stop.
Officers say Bryant kept shouting profanities and refused to cooperate, forcing police to take her into custody. She was later booked on misdemeanor charges related to battery and disorderly conduct.
What makes this incident even more shocking is where it happened. Planet Fitness markets itself as a “Judgment Free Zone.” Instead, gym-goers that morning witnessed something closer to a nightmare.
As someone who’s spent plenty of early mornings at the gym, it’s unsettling to imagine a routine workout turning into something this intense.
The case remains under investigation, and all allegations are pending in court.
But one thing is clear — this was a gym visit no one there will ever forget.
